Green Amanah | Our Climate Commitment
Empowering Communities, Protecting the Planet
At Aishah Help, we believe that caring for the Earth is part of our collective responsibility — an Amanah (trust) that we all share. Rooted in compassion, inclusion, and social justice, our environmental action plan is focused on empowering women, families, and marginalised communities to engage in local, sustainable solutions to the climate and nature crisis.
🌍 Our Environmental Goals
-
Promote nature connection for those most excluded from green spaces
-
Build climate resilience through skills in growing, reusing, and reducing waste
-
Encourage sustainable behaviours rooted in faith, culture, and community
-
Transform underused spaces into thriving community-led gardens
-
Empower women to lead on environmental education and advocacy
🌿 Our Projects in Action: Green Amanah
Our flagship environmental programme, Green Amanah, is a women-led initiative that delivers eco-wellbeing workshops across Tower Hamlets. In partnership with Spitalfields City Farm and local venues, we run sessions on:
-
Jam & balm making
-
Composting & food growing
-
Herbal planting & pollinator-friendly gardening
-
Reuse, repair, and climate-conscious living
-
Outdoor peer support and wellbeing
This programme helps women reconnect with nature, learn practical sustainability skills, and build strong community networks.
♻️ Our Climate Commitments
We are working to:
-
Reduce plastic use and minimise waste across all programmes
-
Integrate sustainability into all our services and events
-
Use local suppliers and recycled materials where possible
-
Monitor and evaluate our carbon impact
-
Share climate knowledge through culturally inclusive workshops

🌐 Community Reconnect: Recycling Tech, Reconnecting Lives
Community Reconnect is Aishah Help’s award-winning digital inclusion initiative designed to tackle both e-waste and digital poverty across Greater London.
We collect and refurbish old smartphones and tablets, wipe them securely, and provide them to digitally excluded individuals. Each recipient receives:
-
A refurbished smart device
-
6 months of free data, calls, and texts (through Vodafone)
-
One-to-one digital skills training and support
By reusing tech and empowering vulnerable people to connect online, we’re helping reduce landfill waste and bridge the digital divide.
