Voucher Support for Women in Hardship

In response to the rising cost-of-living crisis, Aishah Help has launched a targeted voucher-based hardship project to provide urgent relief to vulnerable women and girls across East London. This initiative aims to alleviate the immediate financial pressures many face, such as having to choose between food, heating, or personal safety.

Through this project, we are distributing emergency hardship fund vouchers directly to 100 women from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds. Each voucher helps cover essential needs such as food, energy, and household supplies, offering a critical lifeline during times of crisis.

But this is more than just short-term relief. It’s a pathway to empowerment. Alongside financial support, beneficiaries receive access to vocational training, peer networks, and tailored guidance to connect with household support funds and local community services.

By easing immediate hardship and building routes to long-term independence, we’re not just meeting needs, we’re transforming futures.

Celebrating success in tackling pensioner poverty

Pensioner poverty is acute in London’s East End, where it ranks the highest in the nation. The Campaign coordinated and funded specialist benefits advice training to outreach workers at frontline organisations supporting older people. Grant funding provided additional capacity for those staff to assess their client’s household income and benefit entitlements and support them in making claims.  Read more…
