Aishah Help is committed to enhancing mental well-being and reducing social isolation among older women from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Newham. Through the Mind the Gap Befriending Programme, we will engage participants in community-building activities that foster intergenerational connections and social support networks.
Our approach includes interactive in-person events designed to encourage social interaction, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. These events will provide a safe and welcoming space where participants can connect, address mental health stigmas, and access resources that promote well-being.
A dedicated Super User will play a key role in facilitating engagement, ensuring effective outreach, and connecting individuals with mental health support. Promotional efforts will focus on direct community engagement, leveraging networks to expand participation and create a lasting impact on mental health awareness.
This initiative builds on Aishah Help’s extensive experience in community outreach, digital inclusion, and social support, ensuring that residents of Newham receive meaningful and culturally appropriate services. The project aims to empower older women, strengthen community ties, and promote mental well-being through inclusive and impactful engagement.
