Aishah Help – Cost of Living Support Project

Funding: £1,000 from the Communities in Crisis Fund

Project Overview:

Aishah Help launched the Cost of Living Support Project in Tower Hamlets to assist vulnerable households facing financial hardship due to rising living costs. The project aimed to provide food vouchers to support 20 families struggling to afford essential groceries.

Who We Helped:

Primary Beneficiary: People living in poverty

Additional Beneficiaries: BAME communities, older adults, carers, families, refugees, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing social isolation.

Age Range: All ages (from early years to seniors)

Key Impact:

Immediate Food Relief – Provided essential food vouchers to families in urgent need.

Supporting Vulnerable Communities – Reached diverse groups including refugees, low-income families, and older residents struggling with financial insecurity.

Enhancing Community Support – Offered guidance on local services, digital inclusion, and befriending programs to help residents access long-term assistance.

Why It Matters:

With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, many families are forced to skip meals or reduce energy usage to cover essential expenses. This project provided direct, tangible support to help ease the financial burden on those most affected.

Looking Ahead:

Aishah Help continues to expand outreach efforts and seeks additional funding to support more families in crisis, ensuring no one in the community is left behind.
